Beyond the Crossroads
Original Painting | Mixed Media on Canvas
There’s something ancient about the crossroads. They appear in so many stories—not just as places of choice, but of encounter. Where the world changes shape. Where things are asked of us. That was in my mind while painting this. The figure stands alone in a wide red space, facing something bright above—sun, moon, or maybe something else entirely. The atmosphere feels suspended. Full of pressure. But also still.
To the left, there’s a raised gold cross embedded in the surface, circled by a broken halo. It catches the light differently from the rest of the piece. I didn’t plan it to be symbolic, but it feels like something sacred. Or something watching. It could be memory. An echo. Or a mark left behind after a decision was made.
This painting holds the weight of a moment where everything could shift. Where you’ve come far enough that turning back is no longer an option—but moving forward still feels like a question.

“There’s a moment in life where you feel like something unseen is holding the space with you. Not answering. Just present. That’s what this painting became for me. A place between decision and surrender.”
- Anthony
This piece is for those who’ve felt the stillness before a shift. Who know what it’s like to stand at the edge of something and feel the weight of it, without knowing what comes next. Beyond the Crossroads is quiet, but it carries a deep presence.
