SELECTED WORKS

This selection brings together key paintings from different areas of my practice, including textured abstract works, figurative paintings and landscape-based pieces. Across the work, I return to memory, belonging, grief, resilience and emotional presence, using colour, texture and atmosphere to hold experiences that are not always easy to put into words.

Some paintings centre on the human figure, while others use landscape, weather, distance or abstraction to carry feeling. Together, these works offer an introduction to the recurring concerns in my practice and the ways painting can hold memory, place and human experience.

Transcript of Artist Insights Video

This piece, The Ancestors, is a reflection on the layers of history and identity that we all carry. The two central faces here invite contemplation, and if we examine the work closer, we'll see hidden faces and hidden elements.

Under a Blood Red Sky explores migration and transformation. The figures blur the lines between warriors and wanderers, raising questions about survival and renewal. The red ground and sky evoke conflict, passion, and the promise of new beginnings. It's a story of courage—both the struggle and the hope for what's to come.

In The Last Fisherman, I reflect on the loss of traditions and the tension between rural and urban life. The fisherman stands as a symbol of resilience, memory, and adaptation. The Poolbeg Towers anchor the piece in modernity, reminding us of the sacrifices and choices that come with change.

Thank you for taking the time to explore my work. Each piece tells a story—personal yet universal—and I hope to inspire reflection and connection. If you'd like to learn more or inquire about any of the works, please feel free to reach out. I'd be delighted to share more about their journey. Thank you.
