Some mornings stay with me, not for what happened, but for how they felt. Dawn Passage
came from one of those mornings. There was a softness in the air, and something in me wanted to meet it with colour. I wasn’t trying to paint a memory, but something quieter: a sensation, a kind of emotional light that only arrives when you’re paying attention.
The pinks, blues, and soft yellows found their way into the work without much planning. It was all feeling. The texture came from that same place too, layered, gentle, steady. I let the painting unfold in its own rhythm, and what emerged was something I didn’t want to control. Just be with. This piece feels like breath. Like the moment before everything starts.
