Crimson Canopy
brings together a group of fragmented figures beneath a dense red sky. While making the painting, I was thinking about Ireland and Palestine, and about how conflict, loss and endurance become embedded in the memory of a place. The figures appear to carry that history with them, even as they continue beneath its weight.
